Editorial Policy
This page explains how we write, review, update, and correct every question and every piece of study content on our site, so you can trust that what you see is accurate, reliable, and clearly sourced.
Sourcing Standards
Every question, study guide, and article on our site must trace back to a clear, authoritative source β never to guesswork or unverified information. Our primary references include:
The Discover Canada Study Guide
The official citizenship study guide published by IRCC, and the core basis for our questions and explanations.
Official Government of Canada Websites
Used to verify exam procedures, eligibility requirements, and other policy details that can change over time.
Publicly Available Historical & Geographic Facts
Used to supplement explanations involving historical events, geographic data, and other objective information, with an emphasis on accuracy.
Content Creation Process
Identify Key Topics
We pull the topics we need to cover directly from the official guide, so no core exam topic is missed.
Draft the Content
We write the question, answer choices, and explanation, noting the official source behind each one.
Fact-Check
We check every line of the draft against the official source and correct any discrepancies in wording.
Simplify the Language
We rewrite the content in plain, accessible language so it works for applicants at every English proficiency level.
Final Review Before Publishing
We do a final check of formatting, links, and explanations before anything goes live.
Before Any Question Goes Live, It Must Meet These Standards
- βVerifiable β The content must trace back to a specific section of the Discover Canada guide or another official source.
- βClearly worded β The question and explanation must be unambiguous and free of misleading language.
- βOne correct answer β The correct answer must be clearly supported, with no room for dispute or multiple interpretations.
- βAppropriately difficult β The difficulty level must reflect the real exam β not too easy, not too hard.
- βAccessible language β Explanations must use clear, plain English, avoiding obscure vocabulary and overly complex sentences.
Our Use of AI Tools
To help us organize and format content more efficiently, we use AI tools to assist with drafting, translation, and structuring for some content. We believe being upfront about this is part of being a responsible source of information for our readers.
Whether or not AI assistance was used, every question and explanation is checked by a human before publication, verified line by line against authoritative sources like the official Discover Canada guide. AI tools are used only to improve efficiency β they never replace human review.
Updates & Corrections
Official materials and procedures for the Canadian citizenship test can change over time. Here's what we commit to:
- βRegular reviews β We regularly check for updates to official materials and adjust our content to match.
- βWelcoming your feedback β If you spot an error in a question or explanation, please let us know through our Contact page.
- βPrompt corrections β Once we verify an error, we fix it as quickly as possible, and note the update date on the page for any significant correction.
What We Don't Do
- βWe don't offer immigration or legal advice β Our content is for exam preparation only and doesn't constitute immigration, legal, or professional advice. For questions about your application, please consult IRCC or a licensed immigration consultant.
- βWe can't guarantee an exact match with the real exam β IRCC doesn't publish actual exam questions. We aim to closely mirror the real exam's style, but we can't guarantee a word-for-word match.
- βWe don't offer paid placement or sponsored content β The order in which questions and articles appear is never influenced by advertising or business partnerships.
- βWe don't claim to be an official body β This is an independently run, third-party study platform with no affiliation to the Government of Canada or IRCC.
